Who We Are

Hillside Horizon for Teens was founded by a group of like-minded individuals who saw an underserved population that needed immediate help. Due to the world’s current climate, we set out to create a safe and tranquil environment for teens and their families to learn, grow and heal! Throughout our decades of involvement within the Mental Health industry, our front-line experiences have become paramount in building the rapport and trust necessary to affect who we seek to treat positively. Concerning the recovery and healing process, our highly motivated and equally passionate team of medical and clinical professionals will provide comprehensive guidance to families, including but not limited to clear communication, confidentiality, and quality care. By implementing a variety of treatment modalities, we intend to help teens set and meet their unique, individual goals, thus steering them toward a healthier and more prosperous future.

Lastly, we feel we must make a stand, break the stigma, and educate families across the US regarding the seriousness of this Mental Health crisis, and we aspire to do just that!

What We Treat

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. It generally affects people of all ages, but it is most commonly diagnosed in children and adolescents.

Experiencing occasional anxiousness is a normal part of growing up. However, when anxiety becomes chronic and overwhelming, it can interfere with your teen’s development and daily life in significant ways.

Teen
Depression

Sadness, low energy, and fatigue are all normal human experiences, especially for teens going through emotional and hormonal changes. When those low moods begin to prevail over other emotions and affect your teen’s day-to-day life, however, it’s a sign that there may be something more serious going on.

Teen
Personality
Disorder

Often, people consider their personality to be the defining factor in who they are as a person. For example, someone might say they are “shy” or “outgoing.” But what if a personality trait becomes so pervasive and rigid that it interferes with daily functioning? Sometimes, it can indicate that a personality disorder may be present.

Victor Hamaker

Program Director

With a strong commitment to supporting individuals with special needs, and at risk youth, I have built a career dedicated to advocacy and behavioral health. My journey began as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in group homes and for the local school district for both adults and adolescents with special needs, behavioral challenges, and at-risk youth. I then transitioned into behavioral health, serving as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Hillside Horizon, where I worked closely with at-risk youth and individuals with complex behavioral needs. I later advanced to Lead BHT and then Operations Manager. Currently, as the Program Director at Hillside Horizon, I oversee program development, staff training, and client care, ensuring high-quality services for individuals with behavioral and developmental challenges. Additionally, I support the local school district as a special needs advocate, working to enhance resources and support for students and families.
