How Much Does Teen Residential Treatment Cost?

The cost of teen residential treatment depends on your insurance benefits and on how long your teen stays. Most stays here run 60 to 90 days. We verify your benefits at no cost, so you know what your plan covers before anyone is asked to commit.

What Affects The Cost Of Teen Residential Treatment?

Three things shape what a family pays: what your plan covers, how long your teen stays, and the care that follows discharge.

Most stays run 60 to 90 days, and some finish closer to 30 while a few need longer. Discharge is planned around progress instead of a set date, so the length is reviewed as treatment goes.

What Your Teen Gets Each Day In Residential Care

A residential stay is care around the clock in a home, which is why it costs more than a weekly therapy hour.

School starts at 9:00 a.m., therapy runs from 11:00 a.m., and recreation follows at 4:00 p.m., so daily life has the same structure every day.

How Do Families Pay For Teen Residential Treatment?

Families pay for teen residential treatment with in-network benefits, out-of-network reimbursement, or self-pay. Some plans require pre-authorization before admission, and your benefits check shows whether yours does.

Insurance coverage varies by plan, so the same stay can cost two families very different amounts.

How Do I Find Out What We Would Pay?

Call admissions or send the insurance form, and admissions checks your benefits at no cost. You hear what your plan covers and talk through the rest on a confidential call, including self-pay.

Nothing is asked of you until you have that answer.

Why Do Prices Online Vary So Much?

Programs price differently based on staffing, setting, and what a day includes, and many publish no prices at all.

A national average will not tell you what your plan pays, which is why the benefits check comes first.

FAQ

Cost Questions Parents Ask

Short answers to what families ask about paying for a stay. If yours is not here, call and a person will pick up.

Do you publish your prices?

No. What a family pays depends on their plan and the length of stay, so we verify benefits first and talk through cost on a call.

Does insurance cover teen residential treatment?

Many plans do, and we work with plans including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon, Cigna, GEHA, and Magellan. Benefits vary by plan, so a free verification is the way to know what yours covers.

Is self-pay available?

Yes. Self-pay is one of the ways families pay for a stay, and admissions can talk through the cost before your teen arrives.

How long is a typical stay?

Most stays run 60 to 90 days, and some finish closer to 30 while a few need longer. We plan discharge around progress, not a date picked in advance.

Does my teen keep up with school during the stay?

Yes. School runs on site with Advantages School International, and its Cognia-accredited coursework can transfer back to your teen's home school.
