On the deck
Morning light, a short sequence, enough challenge that it is not a stretch class for parents. Staff who know when to back off.
Mornings on the deck. Strength, stretch, and a nervous system that learns it can come down.
What this is
Yoga here is a morning on the terrace and a skill at 2 a.m. Strength, stretch, breath. A nervous system that has been scanning all night needs a way down that is not a screen. It sits beside individual therapy. It does not replace it. It is not a crafts hour.
What this hour is for
Anxiety, ADHD, a teen who cannot take the therapy chair until something in them drops.
Depression, shutdown, a morning that starts in bed. Standing up is the first activation.
We do not force a pose that floods them. Choice, breath, a way out of the shape. Paced like the rest of trauma work.
An evening practice that is not a phone. The night starts in the body.
Peers, side by side, no performance of insight. Some teens can only join the house this way first.
Three poses and a breath they can do in a bedroom at home. The deck is practice. The bedroom is the test.
In the week
On the deck, in the studio, on the trail — the body first, then the story. Never a crafts hour tacked on.

Morning light, a short sequence, enough challenge that it is not a stretch class for parents. Staff who know when to back off.

02
The clinician knows what the body did at 8 a.m. A panic after a pose is information. The two hours talk.

03
A shorter practice before lights out. The house does not pretend sleep is a decision. The body has to come down.
The work
A clinical tool, not a spa add-on. It sits beside individual therapy. It does not replace it.
Most mornings. Not a special Saturday. The nervous system learns from repetition, not from a workshop.
Trauma-informed: they can skip, they can leave, they can take a smaller version. Flooding is not the method.
The inhale and the pose are the same skill. We do not run two body programs that ignore each other.
What shows up on the mat often belongs in the therapy room that afternoon.
A body that cannot, a teen who is flooded, a medical no. Individual therapy still leads. This is one tool.
Your part
Yoga here is clinical. Treatment includes you so the practice can survive a bedroom that is not a deck.
Is this just stretching?
Downshift, strength, a way into the day. We will say what it is for — and what it is not.
Hand them over and wait.
You will get a short practice for the weekend. We run it before discharge.
Skip the mat until they’re home for good.
A written morning. We practice it here — not after a cliff.
Length of stay
30
days in residence, by progress
Most stays land between one and three months. We do not pick a discharge date before the work is ready.

Yoga sits inside the stay — mornings, a night practice, a skill that can travel. Thirty to ninety days is enough to make the downshift automatic. Aftercare is still a next therapist. The mat is not the aftercare.
When to call
If the body is running the week — or talk cannot start until something in them drops — call. We will be honest if this house is too much, or not enough.
