In the room
Bi-weekly family sessions. A licensed clinician. The dance, named out loud, then a different move practiced before you leave.
We treat the home, not just the teen — communication, attachment, and the patterns that keep repeating.
What this is
A teen does not get well in a vacuum and then return to an unchanged house. Family therapy here is systemic: who speaks, who fixes, who leaves the room. Not a blame hour. Not a report card on parenting. A clinician, a table, and the dance that keeps repeating.
When this is the right tool
Plans get cancelled. Siblings go quiet. Everyone tracks the weather. That is a system. It can change.
Homework, the door, the phone. The content changes. The dance does not.
A parent who soothes, answers, rearranges. The teen cannot keep the skill if the house still does the work.
No more yelling — because nobody talks. Withdrawal is a pattern too.
After a scare, the house organizes around not setting them off. Safety matters. So does a life that can resume.
That wish is human. It is also why stays fail. The work has to include you.
In the week
Sessions, the family table, and the house itself — the same skill, practiced in three places.

01
Bi-weekly family sessions. A licensed clinician. The dance, named out loud, then a different move practiced before you leave.

02
A call after a hard visit. What to say instead of the old line. You are not waiting two weeks to find out if it worked.

03
We practice the first weekend home before the last day. The grocery store, the bedroom, Sunday night.
The work
The teen is not the only person in treatment. The house is in the plan on purpose.
Who pursues, who withdraws, who fixes. We map it. We do not pick a bad parent.
Fear of being left, a door that slams, a teen who will not need you. The feeling under the fight is the work.
What to say instead of “you’ll be fine,” “just get up,” “because I said so.” Practiced here. Used at home.
What they will not say to you often starts in their own hour. The two rooms talk. They do not leak the diary.
Some work is yours alone — limits, grief, a marriage under the strain. We name that. We do not do it in front of the teen.
Your part
Residential care fails when the teen changes and the house does not. This method is how we refuse that ending.
Drop them off and wait for the call.
Sessions are not optional visiting hours. The work is on the pattern between you.
Ask what they said about you.
You will get a plan. You will not get a transcript of their individual hour.
Figure out Sunday later.
A written plan for the old fight. We practice it before discharge — not after a cliff.
Length of stay
30
days in residence, by progress
Most stays land between one and three months. We do not pick a discharge date before the work is ready.
90
Family therapy sits inside the stay — sessions, coaching, a practiced weekend. Thirty to ninety days is enough to change a dance. Aftercare includes a next family clinician, not a handshake.
When to call
If the house is the other patient — eggshells, the same fight, a teen you no longer know how to talk to — call. We will be honest if this house is too much, or not enough.
